Position Overview

Midland Shuttle Services Inc. is seeking a dependable, experienced, and highly organized Lead Bus Driver to oversee daily driver scheduling while performing administrative and transportation duties. This position combines hands-on bus driving responsibilities with in-office operational support.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, comfortable coordinating drivers and schedules, capable of handling last-minute staffing changes, and willing to travel to other cities and towns when business operations require overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

Office & Scheduling Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain daily and weekly driver schedules.
• Assign drivers to routes, trips, and customer transportation requests.
• Monitor driver availability, attendance, and scheduling changes.
• Arrange backup coverage when drivers are unavailable or call out.
• Communicate daily assignments, route changes, and operational updates to drivers.
• Assist management with daily transportation operations and administrative duties.
• Help ensure all scheduled transportation services are properly staffed and covered.

Driving Responsibilities

• Operate company buses and passenger vehicles safely and professionally.
• Serve as a backup driver when regular drivers are unavailable.
• Travel to surrounding cities and towns to provide transportation services.
• Be available for assignments requiring overnight stays of more than one night.
• Follow established company safety procedures and customer service standards.
• Maintain accurate trip information and communicate any operational issues to management.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) Endorsement.
• Previous bus or commercial passenger transportation driving experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Good GPS and navigation skills, including the ability to follow directions and identify alternate routes.
• Ability to coordinate schedules and manage multiple assignments.
• Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude.
• Willingness and ability to travel to other cities and towns, including overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a lead driver, dispatcher, or transportation coordination role.
• Experience managing driver schedules or coordinating transportation operations.
• Familiarity with Midland, Odessa, and surrounding Permian Basin communities.
