Job Purpose:
The Thermoforming Setup Operator is responsible for setting up and operating vacuum and pressure forming
machines and related equipment to fabricate plastic components according to production specifications. This
role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings, perform precise measurements, and maintain a safe
and clean work environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate vacuum/pressure forming machines, band saws, die cutters, and other related equipment used in the fabrication and forming of plastic materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop orders, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) sheets to determine job requirements and specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, verniers, and tape measures to inspect and verify work in accordance with job orders and blueprints.
- Accurately document production steps, including time spent, part counts, operation and shop order numbers, materials used, and visual/dimensional inspection results.
- Follow all safety procedures and always work in a safety-conscious manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company housekeeping standards.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficient in using basic measuring tools (e.g., calipers, verniers, tape measures).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math and computer skills
- 3 years machine operating
