Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Assist customers with product inquiries and upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with precision, including counting cash and giving correct change
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Support inventory management through stocking and merchandising tasks, including inventory counts and product replenishment
- Provide friendly phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries via phone or online channels
- Promote store promotions and special offers to maximize sales opportunities while delivering excellent customer service
Requirements
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in a bilingual environment, if applicable
- Ability to perform merchandising, stocking, and inventory tasks efficiently in a grocery or retail store setting
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a positive shopping experience
- Basic understanding of retail math for balancing registers and managing cash transactions
