Surgical Services RN Director-Southern West VirginiaSalary Range: $120,000-$145,0005K Sign on bonus & Relocation Assistance negotiableThe Surgical Services Department at our Hospital is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality perioperative care across the full surgical continuum. Encompasses the Operating Room (OR), Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Outpatient Surgery, Endoscopy, and Pre/Post-Operative Services, supporting a broad range of specialties including Vascular, General Surgery, and Orthopedics. Our Surgical Services operates eight main OR suites and five outpatient surgical rooms, supporting both inpatient and outpatient procedures with efficiency and safety. Across all service areas, approximately 90 full-time equivalents (FTEs) deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.How you’ll contributeProvides leadership and operational oversight for Main OR, Outpatient Surgery, PACU, Pre/Post, and Endoscopy.Monitors key performance metrics, including case volume, turnover time, block utilization, and on-time starts.Drives OR efficiency initiatives to improve throughput and reduce delays.Ensures compliance with hospital policies, CMS, Joint Commission, and state regulatory standards.Manages departmental staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to support safe, high-quality care.Develops and manages operating and capital budgets while ensuring cost-effective use of resources.Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and clinical staff to enhance communication and operational performance.Leads quality-improvement initiatives and promotes evidence-based perioperative practice.Recruits, mentors, and develop perioperative nursing staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.Oversee ongoing staff education, competency, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.Must-Haves:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Current WV RN license (or eligible for licensure).5–7 years of perioperative nursing experience, including OR leadership or management roles.Strong knowledge of perioperative standards (AORN, ASPAN) and regulatory requirements (CMS, Joint Commission).BLS and ACLS certifications required (or obtained within a defined timeframe)
