Process Engineer
As the Process Engineer you will monitor the quality of the manufacturing process, analyze process problems, and recommend corrective actions as needed. In addition, it will be your mission to implement programs and procedures that pertain to process control. Plastic Injection Molding Experience Required.
Duties to include:
- Monitor and analyze product quality of an assigned product group or manufacturing area.
- Develop optimal process (including documentation) and monitor processes to ensure product specifications are maintained.
- Analyze process problems or upsets and determine the root cause of problems, conferring with production, tool room and maintenance personnel and management as required.
- Determine and recommend corrective actions and work with manufacturing, tool room and maintenance personnel to implement and determine effectiveness.
- Analyze production processes to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency. Determine methods to reduce cost and/or waste, increase speed or output.
- Recommend modifications to processes, molds and/or machines as required modifications etc.
- Work with appropriate processing department personnel to implement changes and monitor the effectiveness of these changes.
- Monitor and evaluate data collection methods and quality of data for statistical process control.
- Recommend modifications or controls to increase accuracy and reliability of data.
- Develop and implement SPC methods in areas of responsibility where none exist.
- Support Technical Development of new products establishing sound process parameters based upon material manufacturers stated guidelines.
- Interface with Sales to identify and support new products.
- Maintain a working liaison with manufacturing personnel to resolve ISO procedural documentation problems as they may occur.
Skills & Knowledge
- B.S. in Plastics Engineering preferred.
- 5 years process engineering experience within an injection molding machining environment.
- Background and knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Lean and ISO methodologies.
- RJG Certificate a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
