REPORTS TO: Principal/Building Manager/Zone Trainer/Custodial Supervisor

EXPERIENCE: One year as a Custodian

Position Function/Purpose Daily Supervision of all assigned Custodial Staff to assure all Custodians follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds. |

Major Responsibilities 1. Manage and direct the work of the custodial staff on the assigned worksite 2. Keep the building and grounds including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean Guard against fire and accident hazards 3. Keep operation cost to a minimum without reducing efficiency 4. Help to prevent property loss that may be caused by abuse 5. Keep all tools and equipment in serviceable condition. Practice and use preventive maintenance 6. Keep floor clean, waxed, buffed, vacuumed, or extracted 7. Schedule and execute all normal housekeeping operations 8. Keep light bulbs and tubes replaced 9. Report maintenance through proper channels 10. Responsible for the security of buildings 11. Responsible for normal heating and cooling maintenance operations 12. Setting and moving irrigation pipe and sprinklers on campus grounds as assigned 13. Perform such other duties as assigned by Custodial Supervisor or Director of School 13.Plant Services 14. Perform such other duties as assigned by Head Building Custodian/Manager, Custodial Supervisor or Custodial Trainer

Qualification Requirements · The ability to read and write English · Valid Texas driver’s license · Ability to properly operate cleaning equipment · Lift heavy equipment and proper use of cleaning supplies · Operate all custodial equipment · Pass training courses · Valid Texas Driver License and acceptable driving record; must adhere to Midland ISD’s vehicle safety and use program |
