Responsibilities
- Assist patients in choosing appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions, lifestyle needs, and personal preferences.
- Perform laboratory tasks such as lens fitting, adjustments, and verifying optical measurements to ensure precise prescriptions.
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care using clear medical terminology and physiology knowledge.
- Manage retail sales operations including inventory management, retail math calculations, and processing medical billing in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in optical environments or clinic settings with a strong understanding of optical experience and anatomy knowledge.
- Previous work as an optician or optical tech is mandatory
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or similar platforms used for patient documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and senior care clients.
- Strong retail management skills combined with retail math proficiency to handle sales transactions accurately.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times.
- Laboratory experience related to lens fitting or optical device adjustments is highly desirable.
