Senior Services of Midland County is seeking a compassionate Direct Care Worker to join our care team. This is a part-time role that focuses on supporting aging individuals in the comfort of their home by assisting them in performing everyday tasks that will enable them to remain safe and independent in their home, while providing support and relief for the family caregivers. Key Responsibilities as a Direct Care Worker:
· Assist older adults with daily household task in order to keep them safe including but not limited to, bathing and grooming, toileting, incontinence care, medication reminders, homemaking, and companionship.
· Driving to and from client's home using DCW's personal vehicle
· Work compassionately with older adults with varying degrees of physical and
cognitive limitations.
· Follow and meet the client's Care Plan of assistance.
· Document client visits on tasks completed, arrival and departure times, total time assisted, mileage, etc. using personal cellular phone. Adhere to the number of hours scheduled.
· Observe, record and report any change in the client's condition and home
environment to Home Care office staff
· Possess good customer service skills and display professionalism.
· Attend meetings, workshops and trainings as assigned.
· Perform such tasks as may be assigned.
· Ensure confidentiality of all client records and information.
· Maintain an awareness of and follow Senior Services Policies and Procedures with
special emphasis on safety, emergency procedures, sanitation and universal
precautions, as well as following common sense work practices.
Direct Care Worker Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent (Required).
· 1 year of experience working as a direct care worker, direct support professional, nurse's aide, etc. (Required).
· 1 year of experience working with people in the elderly population.
· Dependable transportation and must maintain auto insurance
· Must be willing to drive to client's home throughout Midland County, mileage reimbursement available.
