This position is responsible for all mail functions required by Midland College.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer literacy
- Ability to pick up, sort, and deliver mail to all Midland College campuses located in Midland, TX
- Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy
- Clerical experience to include some experience with mailroom operations
- Prior experience operating a postal meter
- Under the supervision of the mailroom clerk and when needed
- Pick up mail from the post office on a daily basis, as needed, including periods of campus closure (extended holidays and spring break)
- Pick up and deliver interdepartmental and first-class mail to all Midland College locations
- Responsible for applying correct postage to all outgoing mail and adherence to time schedules for pickup of mail by mail service
- Process and transport bulk mail to the post office
- Responsible for hand delivery of packets to both Midland College and Midland College Foundation board members
- Report monthly to the accounting department, balances for prepaid postage, business reply, and bulk mail accounts. See that balances are replenished in a timely, when necessary
- Guide all college inquiries concerning postage questions
- Assist accounting office with clerical duties
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 25% of the time
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- The person in this position needs to frequently move or drive to other locations on and off-campus
- Stamina to pick up and deliver mail to both main and off-campus locations
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Use of manual dexterity
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others verbally and electronically; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Frequently moves and lifts mail or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds
- Duties indoors and outdoors
