Established in 1978, we offer a full continuum of care, including hospice, palliative care, home health, grief and loss counseling, and our signature PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program. Medical Records Support Specialist
Assists with the accurate management and maintenance of participant health information. This role supports the organization, scanning, indexing, and retrieval of medical records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations. The Support Specialist responds to internal requests for records, helps track documentation completeness, assists with audits and quality reviews, and supports staff with record-related questions. By ensuring health records are timely, accurate, and accessible, the Support Specialist helps promote effective care coordination and regulatory compliance across the organization.
Qualifications:
Required
- Basic knowledge of medical records management or health information practices
- Ability to accurately organize, scan, file, and retrieve documents
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and privacy regulations
- Basic computer skills, including experience with electronic health record systems or databases
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred
- Previous experience in a medical records, health information, or healthcare administrative role
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, documentation standards, and record retention requirements
- Experience supporting audits, quality reviews, or regulatory compliance activities
- Postsecondary coursework or certification in health information management or a related field
- Experience working in a PACE program, long-term care, or community-based healthcare setting
