Midland Care Connection is a not-for-profit, community-based organization dedicated to helping older adults and seriously ill individuals stay independent and supported in their homes. Midland Care Connection provides care and services to 2,800 people across 22 counties in Northeast Kansas, 6 counties in Central Kansas and 12 counties in Missouri through the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), Hospice, Palliative Care, Grief and Loss Services, Home Health and Meal on Wheels, Midland Care Connection related entities include Midland Care, Visiting Nurse Association Kansas City, Community Care Hospice, Responsive Care Solutions ACO, National PACE MSO and Midland Care Physician Services. The annual revenue of Midland Care Connection is $100 million, and its non-profit mission is carried out by 650 staff members and 1,000 volunteers.
Chief Financial Officer
The CFO is responsible for overseeing all financial operations to ensure the organization runs efficiently, remains financially stable, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations. This role includes managing accounting, billing, budgeting, cash flow, financial reporting, and health plan (PACE) Part D bid development while maintaining strong internal controls and compliant financial systems. The CFO also supervises the Controller, Director of Revenue Cycle, and IT Director, and as a member of the executive team, plays a key role in supporting organizational growth, ensuring resources are used effectively, goals are achieved, and long-term sustainability is maintained.
Essential Duties
- Works with CEO and Executive Team to develop the annual budget for approval by the Board of Directors.
- Ensure the monthly financial statements and program reports are provided to the Board of Directors and leadership team in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor the billing and collection activity to ensure processes are in place to accurately bill and timely collect all receivables.
- Monitor cash and investment portfolios for all entities to ensure earning appropriate returns while maintaining adequate levels of liquidity and ability to meet debt service coverage requirements
- Oversees the Information Technology department to ensure IT strategies are aligned to support the organization’s goals and security controls are in place to protect data.
- Participates as a member of the Executive Team.
- Understands financial compliance for all Midland programs.
Qualifications:
Required
- A 4-year degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- At least 3 years of executive-level financial experience in healthcare finance
- Computer proficiency
- A valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- A motor vehicle record that meets the organization’s insurability standards
- An active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license in the state of Kansas
- Familiarity with Medicare and regulatory compliance
- Executive leadership and strategic planning experience
- Experience overseeing IT or cross-functional departments
