Overview
Midian Shriners is looking for a skilled cook to join our team. Our ideal candidate must be quick and efficient in the kitchen, have experience in meal preparation, creation, and food handling, able to communicate in a professional and friendly manner, be a team player, maintain a clean and well-organized work station.
Responsibilities of a Cook:
· Prepare and cook menu items in compliance with established standards
· Food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables and butchering meat
· Ensure all dishes are prepared promptly and according to the menu and customer specifications
· Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace
· Monitor food stock levels and work with manager on reordering
Job Requirements:
· Minimum of 1 year experience as a Head Cook, Short Order Cook, or in a similar role required
· Knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques
· Ability to work all stations in a commercial kitchen independently
· Familiarity with food safety regulations
· Capable of working well independently as well as working with others as a team
· Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
We are a private, member only establishment. Most nights one cook is sufficient and you will be working alone in the kitchen. Typical hours are in the evening Monday-Friday, generally between 4pm-10pm with the restaurant opening at 5pm. Expected average 30-34 hours per regular work week. Must have availability for Saturdays and/or Sundays for occasional private parties. Generally, there is plenty of advance notice for special events.
