Senior I&C Designer - Position and Responsibilities

Senior I&C Designer - Position and Responsibilities
As a Senior Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Designer with Middough, you will create and establish simple designs consistent with good practices, client requirements and conformance to Codes & Standards, layout conduit and cable systems for instrumentation from field to control system, design/layout junction box, design/layout marshalling panel systems, P&ID’s, and layout instrumentation loop sheets.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Development of bill of materials, construction scope of work, obtain quotes for electric hardware and various instrumentation items.
- Assembly of project construction packages.
- Participate in project meetings, project cost estimates, and field walk downs.
- Complete self-checking of all work per project requirements.
- Generate design and detail drawings including orthographics and plans/sections.
- Interact with Discipline Lead to complete project scope.
Education, Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 8 – 15 years of Electrical, Instrumentation and/or Controls design work experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 3D and Revit is a plus.
- Familiarity with typical I&C drawings (Loops, Cabinet Layout/Wiring etc.) and electrical drawings (one lines, conduit and cable schedules, area class etc.).
- General knowledge of National Electric Code preferred.
- Working knowledge of 24-volt DC wiring methods and design.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
- Ability to multitask and organize for project efficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
- This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence and auto insurance coverage.
