Overview
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Infant Teacher Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will support lead teachers in providing high-quality care and education for infants, ensuring their safety, development, and happiness. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact during the foundational stages of children’s lives.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote infant development and learning.
- Supervise and engage with infants during play, feeding, nap times, and diaper changes to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and stimulating environment conducive to early childhood growth.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily activities, milestones, and needs to foster trust and partnership.
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures, to ensure a secure environment for children.
- Observe and document developmental progress, behaviors, and any concerns for reporting to lead staff or parents.
- Assist with diapering, feeding routines, and other caregiving tasks that support infant well-being.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with infants or in early childhood education settings such as daycare or preschool is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-specific caregiving techniques.
- Certification in first aid, CPR (including pediatric first aid), and mandated reporting laws is required or obtainable upon hire.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or in special education settings is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration.
- Ability to maintain patience, compassion, and professionalism in a dynamic environment.
- Classroom management skills combined with a nurturing approach to caregiving.
