Location: K-12 Building
Report to: Vice Principal
License/Certification: Ohio teaching license required.
Background Check: Acceptable BCI and FBI report.
Middletown Christian Schools is looking for qualified Substitute Teachers who embrace our vision, mission, and core values by providing instruction grounded in Christian principles during the absence of regular classroom teachers. We are a ministry of Grace Baptist Church and seek to be a Christ-centered educational institution that teaches from a biblical worldview. This role requires a commitment to a biblical worldview, classroom management, and the spiritual and academic growth of students. In the event of teacher absences, substitutes will be selected from an established call list.

- Believe and support the school’s statement of faith (statement of Grace Baptist Church)

Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is orderly, respectful, and conducive to learning.
- Uphold the school’s Christian values in both conduct and instruction.
- Communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Manage student behavior according to school policies.
- Leave documentation of the day’s activities for the regular teacher.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- State teaching license (or willingness to obtain one)
- Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow established lesson plans and adapt as needed.
Additional working conditions may include:
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
- Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
- May have interaction with an unruly student.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items up to a maximum of 40 pounds (100 pounds on wheels), e.g., paper boxes, deliveries of supplies and equipment.
School contractors will be required to follow the instructions and perform the duties required by their supervisor, appointing authority, or designee.
