What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Teacher - 4 Year Olds position at Middleton Early Childhood Center?
About This Role
We are looking for lead teachers for our one-year-old room starting in mid-August
The teacher is responsible for creating monthly lesson plans and managing day to day activities in the classroom, guiding the assistant teacher, and understanding children's development. They must also communicate and form relationships with families in order to meet the children's needs and resolve any parental concerns.
The lead 4-year-old teacher also teaches our private 4k session during the school year. The private 4k session is made up of children enrolled in our center who are not in the Middleton Cross Plains school district. You do not need a teaching license for this.
We can provide training in early childhood education if needed.
Middleton Early Childhood Center is a NAC accredited and WI State licensed center.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children
- Support daily care, routines, and learning experiences for children
- Build and maintain relationships with children and families
- Follow MECC policies, DCF licensing rules, and NAC standards
- Develop and implement 4k lesson plans
- Plan 4k graduation in the spring
Requirements
- Education in Early Childhood
- High school diploma
- CPR certified (we provide training if needed)
- Health report
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to carry out a routine of light to moderate physical activity
