The Campus and Student Support role is to assist in developing an inviting school climate while providing a safe and secure learning environment for all students by engaging in positive, supportive student interactions in order to facilitate learning.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Building safety and security
Assists Deans in implementing the school’s code of conduct
Builds positive relationships with all students, staff and parents to create a positive school culture
Interacts with students in a positive, non-threatening way
Implements check-in/check-out behavior rubrics with identified students before/after school
Escorts students to/from the classroom to office areas, Student Services, and to class as needed
De-escalates volatile student situations and issues
Writes referrals clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner
Assists Deans in coordinating all emergency response procedures
Uses technology to promote safety and security: PDAs, PDA Cameras, Security Camera System, two-way radios, School Management software, email, phone, general
office equipment and software
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Mindset of a life-long learner who is accepting of feedback
Experience in the use of computers, computer software (i.e. Word, Excel)
Ability to develop positive and constructive relationships with students, staff and visitors
Ability to establish and maintain an environment conducive to learning
Ability to interact in a professional, positive, supportive, and helpful manner with peers, students, staff, and the public on routine, sensitive, and confidential matters
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to function effectively and cooperatively in a team environment
Physically fit for walking, running, and lifting
Required training:
First Aid and CPR/AED Certification
Non-violent Crisis Intervention
Restorative Practices Training
Successful completion of an in-service program related to the position
Preferred:
Experience and/or training in a related field (i.e., education, criminal justice, Human Services, security)
Ability to speak Spanish (Bilingual)
Experience working with school management software such as Infinite Campus
Knowledge of safety monitoring equipment, such as security cameras, two-way radios, and PDAs

Pay: From $26.00 per hour
