Softball Head Coach

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Softball Head Coach to lead our ISL team to success both on and off the field. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the game of softball, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to developing student-athletes. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the softball program, including strategy development, player development, and recruiting.

Middlesex School is finishing off a new $50 million state of the art Field House that will open this summer. This amazing new facility will have a collegiate level Performance Center. We are also investing $8 million this summer into a field complex renovation that will include a brand new softball field. We want to build on our momentum and begin to build a roster that will enable us to elevate our program from JV to Varsity status in short order. Having the right leader is key to this plan. Essential Job Functions

• Educates individuals, groups, or teams on the rules, strategies, and techniques for assigned athletics program.
• Organizing and leading practice sessions.
• Trains, encourages, and motivates athletes to prepare them for games and competitive events.
• Teaches safety rules and regulations and ensures they are enforced.
• Develops physical conditioning programs that equip athletes to meet their potential.
• Evaluates team members to determine fitness levels and potential; advises the head coach on assigning positions or roles to athletes based on strengths and weaknesses.
• Ensures athletes are using equipment properly and safely.
• Identifies the strengths and weaknesses of players and modifies coaching strategies accordingly.
• Remains current on changes in rules, coaching philosophies and techniques, and technology relevant to assigned athletics program.
• Participates in the recruiting process through Admissions as requested.
• Actively recruits student athletes to join the Middlesex program.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience at collegiate level or higher in assigned athletics program.
• Experience as a coach at High School level or higher in assigned athletics program.
  
  

Additional Eligibility Requirements

• Able to successfully complete CHRI, CORI, and SORI checks.
