Position: Girls JV Basketball Coach
Position Summary:
The JV Girls Basketball Coach will foster player growth, sportsmanship, and teamwork while emphasizing fundamental skills and competitive play.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
2. Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport. (Major sports)
3. The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
4. The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.
Essential Functions:
? Teach fundamental and advanced basketball skills, techniques, and strategies
? Conduct structured and engaging practices
? Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that promotes growth and sportsmanship
? Work closely with the varsity coach to align coaching philosophies and team goals
? Develop lineups and strategies for JV matches
? Supervise athletes during matches, practices, and team events
? Communicate effectively with parents, players, and school administration
? Organize team logistics, including transportation, equipment, and scheduling
? Assist in fundraising and community outreach ? Commitment to regular and predictable attendance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by Middlesex County Public Schools' Board of Education and is responsible for their implementation by the entire staff of the sports program.
2. Has knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; implements same consistently and interprets them for staff.
3. Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels. Is aware of all public/staff/departmental meetings that require attendance.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent

- Must be able to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments, including inclement weather conditions.
- Must be able to travel with teams, which may include evenings, weekends, and overnight trips.
