Shipping Clerk

Expected Hours of Work:
This position is full-time. The general scheduled workdays are Monday through Friday.
Position Overview:
The Shipping Clerk supports daily outbound operations by preparing, verifying, and processing shipments accurately and efficiently. This role ensures that all orders are properly packaged, labeled, documented, and shipped in accordance with company and carrier requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Cycle count production material and record variances into ERP database.
- Prepare and process shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier labels
- Verify orders for accuracy before shipment
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with carriers (LTL, parcel, and freight)
- Load and unload trucks as needed, ensuring safe handling of all products
- Maintain organized and accurate shipping records in ERP system
- Track and report daily shipments to ensure on-time delivery
- Inspect packaging for compliance with company standards
- Collaborate with production, customer service, and purchasing teams to resolve shipping discrepancies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping area
- Assist with receiving and inventory tasks as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations (manufacturing environment preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred)
- Familiarity with ERP systems and shipping software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work shifts and hours mandated by management.
- To pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Working Conditions:
- Factory / Warehouse environment
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday- Friday
