Assembly - Builders

Job Overview:

The Builder is responsible for assembling hardwood cabinet doors and related products according to established quality and production standards. This position rotates between operating a CES automated pin nailer machine and performing manual assembly at a worktable using pneumatic clamps, staple guns, and other hand or pneumatic tools. Products range in size from small drawer fronts to larger passage doors. The position requires strong attention to detail, accurate measurement skills, and the ability to safety and efficiently perform both machine-operated and manual assembly work in a fast-paced woodworking manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Rotate between operating the CSE automated pin nailer machine and performing manual door assembly at a flat worktable.

· Apply the appropriate amount of adhesive to joints and components prior to assembly according to established work instructions and quality standards.

· Set up, load, operate, and monitor the CSE automated pin nailer machine according to established operating and safety procedures.

· Position cabinet door components correctly in machine and verify proper alignment before operation.

· Perform manual assembly using pneumatic clamps to position and secure components and pneumatic staple guns to complete assembly.

· Remove excess adhesive as needed to maintain product appearance and quality.

· Assemble cabinet doors, drawer fronts, passage doors, and related products according to specifications and quality standards.

· Read and accurately use a tape measure to verify product dimensions.

· Inspect materials and completed products for proper dimensions, alignment, fit, joint integrity, construction, and overall quality.

· Stack completed cabinet doors safely and securely on designated carts, taking care to prevent product damage.

· Move completed orders and loaded carts to the designated staging area for the next step in the production process.

· Identify defects, damaged materials, or equipment concerns and communicate issues to group leader.

· Safely handle, position, rotate, and move cabinet doors and components of varying sizes and weights throughout the assembly process.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper handling and cleanup of adhesives.

· Participate in cross-training and perform other production duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Previous manufacturing, woodworking, cabinet assembly, or machine operation experience preferred.

· Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

· Ability to safely operate automated production equipment and pneumatic tools

· Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to recognize equipment or process abnormalities

· Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.

· Good communication and teamwork skills.

· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

· Ability and willingness to rotate between machine operation and manual assembly tasks.

· Willingness to learn and cross-train in other production areas as needed.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand and walk for duration of the scheduled shift.

· Ability to work at both automated production equipment and a flat assembly table for extended periods.

· Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, pull, push, and perform repetitive motions.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs throughout shift.

· Ability to safely push, pull, and maneuver carts containing completed products to designated staging areas.

Work Environment:

· Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to wood dust, machine noise, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment.

· Exposure to varying temperatures and humidity levels, depending on seasonal conditions.

· Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, and any other required safety equipment.

· Must follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
