The Township of Middle is seeking full-time temporary Laborers for a 6-month position within the Public Works and Sewer Department. This is a 40-hour per week role, Monday through Friday. Public Works Laborers perform a variety of tasks that change daily, including road repairs, debris collection, grass cutting, and operating heavy equipment. Work may occur in all weather conditions and in buildings without climate control. Sewer Laborers perform a variety of duties such as helping repair broken sewer lines, replacing worn parts, helping clean storm water drains, maintaining sewer pump stations, and sewer catch basins.
Qualified Laborer candidates who are interested in obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) will be provided assistance and an opportunity to complete the necessary training and licensing requirements.
After successfully completing six (6) months of employment, eligible employees may transition into a full-time position, subject to the Township’s staffing needs and applicable requirements.
Requirements:
- Valid NJ driver's license
- Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks
- Experience in plumbing, landscaping, electrical work, or general maintenance is a plus, but not required
- Training and certifications will be provided as needed
