Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Middle Tennessee Behavioral Health
Lebanon, TN Full Time | Part Time
POSTED ON 9/6/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/4/2026

Looking for a flexible counseling position where you can focus on clients instead of running a business?

Middle Tennessee Behavioral Health is an established outpatient counseling practice serving Lebanon and the surrounding Middle Tennessee communities. As our referral base continues to grow, we are looking for compassionate clinicians who enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families to join our team.

Whether you’re looking for a full-time position, a part-time opportunity, or simply want to see clients one or two days each week, we’d love to talk with you.

Our practice is built on the belief that excellent clinicians do their best work when they’re trusted as professionals. We aren’t interested in unnecessary micromanagement or rigid productivity quotas. We believe every clinician has their own strengths, interests, and style of practice, and we strive to provide an environment where you have the flexibility to build a schedule that fits your life.

If you’d rather spend your time counseling than worrying about billing, credentialing, referrals, marketing, scheduling, and the day-to-day responsibilities of running a private practice, we’d love to meet you.

What We Offer

  • W-2 employment
  • Flexible full-time and part-time scheduling
  • Hybrid in-office and telehealth opportunities
  • Furnished office space
  • Established referral base with no expectation that you build your own caseload from scratch
  • Billing, credentialing, EHR, and administrative support provided
  • Clinical supervision available for LPC-MHSP Temporary clinicians
  • Supportive, collaborative team environment
  • Opportunity to grow with a locally owned private practice
  • No rigid productivity quotas
  • Flexibility to develop your own areas of clinical interest

This Position May Be a Great Fit If You…

  • Want flexibility to create a schedule that fits your life
  • Enjoy counseling but would rather leave the business side of private practice to someone else
  • Want to supplement an existing caseload
  • Are looking for a part-time opportunity
  • Are returning to practice after time away
  • Are interested in continuing to practice during retirement
  • Value collaboration and professional support rather than practicing in isolation

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient counseling services within your scope of practice
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Maintain ethical and professional standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide high-quality client care

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field
  • Current Tennessee license or eligible pre-licensed status in a behavioral health profession, including LPC-MHSP, LPC-MHSP Temporary, LCSW, LMFT, LMFT Temporary, LMSW, or other independently licensed Tennessee behavioral health professional. Pre-licensed clinicians whose supervision cannot be provided by our practice must have supervision arrangements that meet the requirements of their respective Tennessee licensing board.
  • Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain before employment)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience providing outpatient counseling
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and/or families
  • Interest or experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, behavioral concerns, relationship issues, or life transitions
  • Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based client care

Compensation

We recognize that every clinician brings different experience, goals, and availability. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, we work with each clinician to develop a compensation structure that reflects licensure, experience, productivity, payer mix, and desired schedule.

Our goal is to build long-term relationships by offering compensation that is fair, competitive, and sustainable while giving clinicians the flexibility to practice in a way that fits their lives.
