Regional Jail Officers supervise inmates and are responsible for custody, control, discipline, and escape prevention duties. This position involves escorting inmates to and from work, recreation, courts, programs, and cell areas; checking visitors and inmates for contraband; maintaining security; reporting on inmate conducts and work performance; and supervising inmate work activities.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License
- Good physical condition
- Oral and written communication skills
- Clean criminal history record
- Starting Pay $47,721.00 (Entry)
- Upon Completion of 1 Year Service and completion of Basic Jail Academy: $49,897.00
