Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement activity programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents, including social, recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities
- Coordinate and lead activities, including arts and crafts, music, exercise, and entertainment programs
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify resident needs and preferences, and incorporate these into activity programs
- Design and implement special events and celebrations for holidays and special occasions
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activity programs, making adjustments as necessary
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident feedback
- Develop and manage activity budgets to ensure effective use of resources
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in activity direction or a related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with seniors
