Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Job Summary
This position assists in numerous and varied aspects of the University's marketing, creative services, advertising, public relations and communications missions. The position will have opportunities to handle creative and clerical and aspects of different marketing and communications projects across the University.
Responsibilities
Duty 1 -
Performs occasional small writing tasks for the Office, including press releases and pieces for publication via digital and traditional channels
Duty 2 -
Provides assistances with operation of various communication platforms, including SMS communications, social media, and other digital channels.
Duty 3 -
Occasionally assists with content generation for the University social media platforms
Duty 4 -
Reviews publications and maintains the Office's press clippings through traditional and digital means.
Duty 5 -
Works with Digital Communications Strategist to assist in identifying areas of student interest/inquiry for amplification on the University website and other digital channels
Duty 6 -
Proofread and edit content, including print documents, digital content, advertising materials and social media.
Duty 7 -
Works with University offices/departments and possibly vendors to complete communication projects
Duty 8 -
Assists with creative services provided by the Marketing staff. These services may include, but are not limited to, photography, videography, audio recording, graphic design, content development for advertising/enrollment services materials
Duty 9 -
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Associate's degree in Marketing, Communications/PR, or a related field OR total of 2 years of college coursework and work experience in marketing and/or communications/PR.
Other Required Qualifications
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Superior interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills
