Job Summary
The Education Coordinator assists in the implementation, supervision and monitoring of education services, with the specific focus of CLASS and/or Teaching Strategies. Also responsible for the reporting and improving of the Head Start program outcomes.
This position will assist in the development of curriculum and will provide educational resources for staff and parents.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field is required. Degree must be conferred, not in process.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Remain current on Head Start education requirements, including CLASS reliability status
- Plan, formulate and assess goals, policies and activities designed to implement educational objectives and performance standards.
- Create and maintain teaching staff profiles in Georgia Professional Development System.
- Ensure coordination of communication with Education Coaches to enhance training and staff development opportunities as well as implementation of coaching strategies.
- Ensure assessments of all education staff to identify strengths as well as areas of needed support; refer staff for intensive coaching as identified.
- Maintain personnel files on teaching staff to include: Professional Development Plan, credential documentation, individual assessment reports, etc.
- Assist teachers and parents in developing strategies and techniques to help children with disabilities and/or challenging behaviors.
- Ensure team collaboration among staff, creating a supportive work environment including accessing resources, staff training and community development.
- Help coordinate orientation for new teaching staff.
- Provide input into teaching staff evaluations and ongoing performance assessments

Minimum Requirements of the Position
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field required.
- Master's degree (Preferred)
- Previous training experience desired.
- Must be a US citizen; have a Permanent Resident Card, or an alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record (NOT TO EXCEED 6 PTS)
- Must have and maintain a criminal history absent of convictions for violent crimes or for any crime against children.
