Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Deputy Director position based in Warner Robins, GA. The Deputy Director will oversee daily operations, assist in strategic planning, and ensure program compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include managing program directors, monitoring budgets, implementing agency initiatives, and fostering relationships with community stakeholders. Additionally, the Deputy Director will collaborate with leadership to address community needs and support sustainable program growth.


Qualifications

  • Lead all grant development activities for the Agency, either directly or through delegation.
  • Stay up-to-date on Federal, State, and Local regulations, trends in government and non-profit sectors, and other factors that may impact Agency operations.
  • Oversee and manage all programs within the Agency's operational area as assigned.
  • Organize and guide program teams to ensure excellent client services.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with the Board, elected officials, Agency staff, program supervisors, target populations, and the public.
  • Represent the Agency at industry events, professional associations, and other public forums.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on internal leadership tasks, such as Human Resources, Administration, and Organization Planning.
  • Identify best practices and enhance internal systems to meet future needs and budget constraints.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to subordinate supervisors.
  • Maintain visibility and accessibility within the organization, serving as a resource when needed.
  • Serve as the acting chief administrative officer in the absence of the Executive Director.
  • Must have access to a car for work-related travel.
  • Perform any additional duties as required or assigned.



Additional Job Duties:

Budget and Financial Oversight: Work closely with the Executive Director and Finance Department to develop, monitor, and adjust the agency's budget to align with strategic priorities and ensure financial sustainability.

Strategic Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of long-term organizational strategies to meet the agency's mission and objectives.

Compliance Management: Ensure that all agency programs are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and maintain an audit-ready status at all times.

Fundraising and Development: Collaborate with the Executive Director in developing and executing fundraising strategies, including identifying new funding sources, building donor relationships, and overseeing donor communications.

Risk Management: Identify organizational risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure agency policies are designed to minimize liability.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of program performance data to ensure continuous improvement and inform strategic decision-making.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community partners, and clients, to enhance the agency's visibility and influence in the community.

Technology Integration: Oversee the implementation of technology solutions that improve efficiency, communication, and service delivery across the agency.

Crisis Management: Act as a point of contact for crisis management, ensuring rapid response protocols and business continuity plans are in place.


Requirements of the Position:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Sociology, or a related field is required. While a degree is desired, a combination of acceptable experience and education may be substituted for the degree.
  • Formal training or certification in grant writing, strategic planning, or nonprofit management is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of financial management, including budgeting and accounting, with a strong ability to interpret financial reports and data.
  • Continuing education in leadership, organizational development, and public policy is encouraged to remain up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Must be a US citizen; have a Permanent Resident Card, or an alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)
