WIC Nutrition Coordinator
Join Midcoast Maine Community Action (MMCA) as a WIC Nutrition Coordinator and help local families build healthy futures. You’ll provide practical nutrition and breastfeeding support to pregnant and postpartum participants, infants, and children under five.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for planning and coordination of WIC nutrition services (service monitoring, quality assurance, service evaluation).
- Coordinate local WIC nutrition services and support program quality and compliance.
- Assess participant needs and provide welcoming, practical nutrition and breastfeeding education.
- Complete required measurements, documentation, referrals, and data entry.
- Collaborate with WIC partners and the Registered Dietitian to support participants and staff.
Work & Employment Requirements
- A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, flexibility to work across office and outreach settings, and occasional travel or evening and weekend availability are required. Before employment and periodically thereafter, candidates must pass all required fingerprint-based federal and state criminal background checks, child protective services checks, sex offender registry checks, and motor vehicle record checks, with no disqualifying offenses that would prohibit working with children.
Pay & Benefits
This full-time, benefits-eligible role offers pay based on experience, health coverage, employer-paid life and disability insurance, paid time off and holidays, professional development support, and a 403(b) retirement plan with an agency contribution after one year.

What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health nutrition, or a closely related field.
- Strong communication, counseling, judgment, relationship-building, and computer skills.
- Lactation training or breastfeeding counseling experience is preferred.
Salary : $45,468 - $54,562
