Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program
Midcoast Maine Community Action is looking for a friendly, organized, and community-minded Program Service Assistant to support our Women, Infants & Children (WIC) program. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys helping people feel welcome, keeping office operations running smoothly, and contributing to services that support families across our community.
In this position, you will provide administrative, clerical, reception, and service delivery support for WIC clinics and program operations. You will help greet visitors, answer phones, assist with scheduling and participant intake, maintain supplies and records, and support a clean, respectful, and welcoming environment for clients, families, staff, and community partners.
What You’ll Do
o Provide clerical and office support for the WIC program, including maintaining supplies and assisting with records and documentation.
o Welcome visitors, answer phones, provide reception coverage, and help schedule spaces and appointments as needed.
o Assist with eligibility screening, participant intake, and orientation to the WIC application process.
o Help prepare files, charts, notices, and other program materials accurately and confidentially.
o Support outreach efforts and contribute to positive relationships with families, staff, tenants, and community partners.
o Maintain confidentiality and provide service in a helpful, respectful, and professional manner.
What We’re Looking For
o High school diploma or equivalent.
o At least one year of experience in office reception and/or customer service.
o Comfort using computers and common office software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
o Ability to organize office procedures, operate office equipment, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
o A welcoming, client-centered approach and a commitment to confidentiality.
Additional Requirements
This is a non-exempt position reporting to the WIC Program Manager. Candidates must be able to complete required background checks before employment, as applicable.
This position is full-time 37.5 hours a week and benefits eligible.
