Job Goal
Responsible for the overall planning, management, and administration of family advocacy services. You will provide direct service, technical assistance, and supervision for Head Start Family Advocates, Home Visitors, and Families CAN staff to ensure high-quality support for all enrolled families.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Directly manage recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluations for the Family Services team.
- Provide ongoing mentorship, in-service training, and caseload oversight to ensure family needs and strengths are effectively addressed.
Program Planning & Compliance
- Develop parent engagement and family service plans that align with community needs and Head Start Performance Standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with all state and federal regulations, including child abuse and neglect reporting procedures.
- Coordinate home-based service operations and represent the agency at statewide meetings.
Community & Family Advocacy
- Identify social service gaps and collaborate with community agencies to develop programs and referral systems.
- Establish and maintain secure, confidential record-keeping systems for all family data and agency business.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years in social services (5 years preferred), including proven experience in supervision and grant administration.
- Communication: Exceptional oral and written skills with the ability to engage families, professional groups, and community partners.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with database applications.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of local/state resources for low-income families and a proven ability to manage complex record-keeping systems.
Requirements
- Background Checks: Must pass fingerprinted criminal background, child protective services, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record checks as required by licensing regulations.
- Transportation: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of adequate auto insurance required.
· Candidates offered employment must also provide a physician’s health statement, immunization records, and TB screening.
Pay: $54,562.00 - $79,115.00 per year
