Adventist Health Bakersfield is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Travel RN to join their team for a 13-week assignment. This role is ideal for ER nurses who excel in fast-paced environments and are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate patient care. You will deliver coordinated nursing care based on the nursing process, utilize critical thinking skills, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to ER patients following established standards of practice.
- Collect patient data, assess clinical needs, and develop individualized care plans.
- Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to ensure patient safety and progress.
- Coordinate care with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff.
- Educate patients and families on treatments, discharge instructions, and health maintenance.
- Participate actively in discharge planning to support continuity of care.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee support staff as needed.
- Maintain a safe, healing, and supportive environment for patients and families.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department leadership.
Requirements
- Recent Emergency Department experience required
- Minimum 2 years ER experience (3 years preferred)
- Acute care facility experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Active RN License (State of California or compact eligibility where applicable)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Required
Pay Package (48-Hour Option)
- Hourly Pay: $33.25
- Overtime Pay: $49.88
- Weekly Non-Taxable Stipend: $1,442.00
- Total Weekly Gross: $3,304.00
