Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our growing organization. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers requiring vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring a seamless service experience. This role involves coordinating between customers and our service technicians to deliver exceptional automotive service, leveraging extensive automotive knowledge and sales skills to maximize customer satisfaction and dealership profitability.
This position is an hourly plus Commission on sales and a SPIFF program.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their vehicle needs and concerns.
- Explain recommended services, including oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, auto body repairs, and other automotive diagnostics.
- Prepare detailed service estimates and write service orders accurately using automotive service management systems.
- Upsell additional services or repairs that benefit the customer while aligning with their vehicle’s needs.
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, vehicle history, and service recommendations.
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business.
- Stay informed about the latest automotive repair techniques and dealership promotions to enhance sales opportunities.
Skills
- Proven auto repair writing experience or auto service management background preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, transmissions, oil changes, auto body repair, alignment, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, brake repair, air brakes, and other automotive repair specialties.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
- Experience with auto estimating software and service writing is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with service technician experience enhances ability to coordinate repairs efficiently.
- Sales skills with a focus on automobile sales and promoting dealership services.
- Cash handling proficiency and attention to detail in financial transactions.
