| Job Summary: The Production Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily production operations to ensure that goals for quality, efficiency, and safety are met. This role plays a key part in supporting continuous improvement, managing workflow, and developing team members in a fast-paced production environment. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Supervise, train, and motivate production associates to achieve daily and weekly targets.
- Coordinate the flow of materials and products between production areas.
- Monitor performance to ensure products meet quality, quantity, and timeline requirements.
- Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in compliance with company and OSHA regulations.
- Monitor material flow and adjust staffing or resources to meet production goals.
- Ensure all employees follow company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, employee attendance, and material usage.
- Send all the production reports based on schedule.
- Identify and resolve process issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Communicate clearly with warehouse, quality, and logistics teams to align production goals.
- Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce errors or waste.
- Lead by example, promoting teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
- Meet or exceed production goals in both quantity and quality.
- Maintain a 99% or higher accuracy rate in production records and reporting.
- Maintain a production efficiency of 95% in the department.
- Ensure all safety and housekeeping standards are consistently met; Use safety equipment as required.
- Escalate all interpersonal issues and employment-related matters to Engineering Manager and/or Human Resources Business Partner.
- Provide timely and effective communication with team members and supervisors.
- Demonstrate leadership through initiative, dependability, and professionalism.
- Demonstrate reliability by maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work culture.
- Overtime – willing to stay as required by the supervisor up to 5:30 pm and some Saturday’s w/minimal notice.
- Other related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production area for 8-10 hours per shift.
- Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements during handling and inspection of garments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying noise and temperature levels.
- May be required to operate or assist with production machinery or conveyor systems.
- Airborne lint is moderate. Dust masks and safety glasses are furnished upon request. Safety glasses are required in specific tasks.
- Some areas require ascending/descending stairs to reach the leave work area.
- Wear safety gloves and steel-toe shoes when needed.
- Wear a back support belt (optional).
- Workstations are well-lit and ventilated for air and heat circulation.
