What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Mid-West Fabricating Co?
- Check Customer Websites Daily (Automotive and Lawn and garden). Relay quality issues to the team members in all departments so all are aware of the issue(s) and how to prevent in the future.
- Manage the Layered Process Audit Program and Internal Audit System. Generate reports for management.
- Internal, Supplier and External Corrective Actions.
- IATF 16949/ISO 9001 team member/Internal Auditor, manage schedule, coordinate internal audits.
- Manage all automotive related quality issues, issue Quality Alerts, Sort work instructions.
- Actively pursue opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Manage all SPC activities.
- Work on visual instructions initiative (work instructions and gage instructions).
- Supplier/Vendor quality, including Supplier/Vendor qualification approvals/audits with run at rate (as requested), performing 2nd party audits and maintaining 2nd party audit schedule, maintaining Supplier Quality Assurance Manual (SQAM).
- Participate/lead for Quality department in 5S initiatives.
- Participate in APQP process.
- Backup for review of CSR’s, maintain Standards/CSR Linkage Matrix.
- Compose monthly report to include Executive Summary and issue report to management. Continuously monitor customer scorecards
- Manage / implement Document Control in PLEX.
- Track Calibration data for Management Review Metrics.
Qualifications:- Blue Print reading / GD&T
- SPC
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Tier 1 automotive quality experience
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Certified IATF 16949/ISO 9001 Lead Auditor & 2nd Party Auditor
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Accessing Customer website(s) for non-conformance reporting and scorecards
- Core Tools (AIAG)
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
