Polysomnographic Technologist

Mid-West Center for Sleep Disorders
Lansing, MI Full Time | Part Time
POSTED ON 10/23/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/19/2027

Mid-West Center for Sleep Disorders (MWCSD) — a physician-owned,

AASM-accredited sleep medicine practice — is hiring a Daytime

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist for our Lansing lab and

clinic. This is a daytime role (Monday–Friday) focused on

diagnostic testing, CPAP management, Inspire programming, and

patient education — no overnight shifts required.

You will work directly with our Technical Director (RPSGT) and a

board-certified sleep medicine physician (Dr. Vishal Saini,

FAASM, D-ABSM). We are an independent, physician-owned practice —

not a hospital-system satellite — with a small, tight team and

direct access to the medical director for clinical questions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Perform daytime diagnostic testing: Multiple Sleep Latency

Testing (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Testing (MWT),

and expanded EEG studies.

  • Dispense, educate on, and troubleshoot home sleep testing

(HST) devices for appropriate patients.

  • Run CPAP/BiPAP clinic — mask fitting, PAP setup, adherence

data review, device troubleshooting, and patient coaching.

  • Program and adjust Inspire (hypoglossal nerve stimulator)

devices under physician supervision.

  • Score overnight studies to AASM criteria for physician

interpretation.

  • Prepare charts for upcoming studies and ensure patient

intake materials are complete.

  • Document patient encounters accurately in Athena EHR.
  • Support referring-provider follow-up and insurance

authorization workflows as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current RPSGT credential (BRPT) in good standing.

(RST, CPFT, RPFT, CRT, or RRT credentials also eligible per

LCD L36839 and may be considered.)

  • Current BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within

30 days of hire).

  • Minimum 1 year of sleep lab experience preferred; new

graduates with completed clinical rotations will be

considered.

  • Comfort with scoring in Compumedics Profusion or similar

PSG software.

  • Strong patient-education skills — much of the role is

coaching CPAP users through initial setup and compliance.

PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED)

  • Prior Inspire (hypoglossal nerve stimulator) programming

experience.

  • Pediatric PSG experience.
  • Experience with Athena EHR documentation.
  • Michigan residence; reliable transportation.

COMPENSATION

  • $28–$32 per hour, based on experience and credentials.
  • FLSA overtime on any hours over 40 per week.
  • Shift premium available for occasional weekend coverage

(MSLT scheduling).

BENEFITS (FULL-TIME)

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance (opt-in) —

eligibility begins the first of the month following 90 days

of employment.

  • 12 days PTO in Year 1; 15 days Year 2 .
  • Retention bonus at Year 1 and Year 2 anniversaries.
  • CEU reimbursement, BRPT recertification support, and

in-practice training on advanced modalities (Inspire,

pediatric PSG, expanded EEG).

  • Part-time positions receive prorated PTO at 20 hours/week

and a premium hourly rate; health benefits not included.
