Join our team as a Medical Billing Specialist and play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes for medical services. In this role, you will manage the entire billing cycle, from submitting claims and following up on payments to patient billing, and claim appeals. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle management, improve cash flow, and enhance patient satisfaction.
Duties
- Review and submit accurate medical claims using billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
- Review claims to ensure proper usage of diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Verify insurance coverage and health insurance information to facilitate smooth claims processing.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections efforts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payment histories, and correspondence with insurance companies.
- Stay updated on healthcare claims management regulations, medical terminology, and coding guidelines to ensure compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing with knowledge of ICD 10 coding, CPT coding, and healthcare claims management.
- Familiarity with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Strong understanding of health insurance policies, medical terminology, and medical records management.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with insurance companies, providers, and patients.
- Ability to maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical collection practices and healthcare compliance standards will be considered an advantage.
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
