What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver (Class A) position at Mid Valley Agricultural?
Summary:Assist in providing and delivering excellent service and product to our customers. Drive a truck and/or pull a trailer primarily to deliver or pick up materials. Drivers will load and unload their vehicle. Communicate consistently with Mid Valley Agricultural Services Inc.'s Dispatchers. Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from warehouse. Keep records and compile stock reports.Essential Functions:Work alongside Dispatchers to safely and efficiently deliver products.Receive orders (pull tags, invoices) to pull orders from dispatch.Pull, check, count, and verify orders as requestedLoad truck with materials and secure all loads/product on truck.Check order count being loaded, verify quantities are accurate according to shipping papers.Check all safety items daily (first-aid kits, fire extinguisher, tie down straps, spill kits).Keep paperwork in proper place inside of vehicle.Upon delivery, verify quantity being delivered and unloaded.Keep accurate log of deliveries.Follow all rules and regulations of hazardous materials, having an understanding of what placarding is required for all materials being hauled.Understand limitations of licensing, vehicle, and equipment.Keep vehicles clean and free of trash and debris.Report any issues to dispatch and Branch Manager.Inspect Vehicle before and after trip.Assist in cleanup at yard, shop, and warehouse. Organize inventory and assist in pulling/staging orders.Ability to work overtime, as neededOther duties as assignedResponsibilities:Maintaining company supplied vehicle and routinely inspect the vehicle for any noticeable problems.Uphold and comply with driving safety rules, as well as all safety policies of the company.Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions consistent to job functions, strategies, company goals and values.Remain alert while driving for potential hazards from other vehicles.Ability to operate a forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.(Training and certification can be obtained through MVAS)Knowledge:EducationHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)Experience and CertificationsValid Class A Driver License.HazMat endorsement, required.Tanker endorsement, required.Double endorsement, requiredAdditional RequirementsMust be the age of 21 years or older.
