What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility and Grading Foreman position at Mid TN Constructors, Inc.?
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Civil Foreman to oversee and manage our field crews. The Foreman will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective operation of field crew, while ensuring safety quality and timely completion of all projects. This position will be responsible for the field planning and production as directed by the Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the field crew, including task training, and supervision of crew members.
- The ability to perform all crew member duties and run all crew related equipment
- Review, monitor, and maintain crew productivity, equipment, and materials to ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain company assigned vehicles and equipment according to company and safety standards.
- Enforce quality control and safety policies on all aspects of work.
- Supervise, inspect documents, and maintain awareness of equipment used on site.
- Train crew on equipment used onsite and ensure equipment is being operated and shut down safely and properly.
- Oversee safety procedures, quality of workmanship, production, and scheduling.
- Proactively participate and solve problems that could delay construction.
- Teach and practice safety onsite
- Maintain daily reports including construction & maintenance daily log and pictures of progress on site.
- Complete accident reporting in line with company policies and procedures and submitting to Human Resources.
- Act as a liaison between Safety/Human Resources and crew members in the event of injury from a work-related incident.
- Complete necessary accident reports and investigations as requested
- Attend training courses as needed or required for OSHA, safety, etc.
- Communicate with Superintendent, Project Managers, and crew members.
- Report and address hazards with crew members
- Performs other duties as assigned by Superintendent or Project Manager.
Job Requirements:
- 3 year's experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining heavy construction equipment
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and ensure project success
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, push, pull, climb, crawl, and bend for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
- Comfort working in outdoor environments for extended periods, with exposure to varying weather conditions (approximately 95% of the time)
