Build America’s Agricultural Industry

Mid-States Millwright & Builders (MMB) is seeking an experienced Industrial Master Electrician to support electrical operations at an agricultural processing facility in Galena Park, Texas.

This is a hands-on leadership position for a licensed Master Electrician with extensive industrial electrical experience. The ideal candidate will have experience working in hazardous or classified locations, troubleshooting complex industrial systems, and providing daily direction and technical oversight to other electrical team members.

This is a permanent, site-based position with no regular overnight travel.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform and oversee industrial electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Provide daily direction, work assignments, technical guidance, and training to assigned electrical personnel.
  • Plan and prioritize electrical work based on facility operations, equipment conditions, safety requirements, and production needs.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems supporting grain-handling and agricultural-processing equipment, including conveyors, bucket elevators, motors, control panels, and material-handling systems.
  • Install and service conduit, wiring, feeders, branch circuits, disconnects, panels, transformers, motor-control centers, variable-frequency drives, instrumentation, and control wiring.
  • Troubleshoot three-phase electrical systems, motors, controls, and industrial equipment.
  • Perform and oversee electrical work in hazardous or classified locations, including combustible-dust environments.
  • Ensure properly rated equipment, enclosures, fittings, seals, and wiring methods are used in hazardous or classified locations.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, specifications, and equipment manuals.
  • Ensure electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E, OSHA requirements, manufacturer specifications, and applicable state and local regulations.
  • Enforce lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safe-work practices, and required use of personal protective equipment.
  • Conduct pre-task planning, job-hazard analyses, and safety meetings.
  • Inspect completed work and ensure deficiencies are corrected before equipment startup or return to service.
  • Coordinate electrical activities with facility personnel, contractors, vendors, management, and other trades.
  • Assist with equipment testing, commissioning, startups, shutdowns, and emergency repairs.
  • Plan, order, organize, and manage electrical materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, inspections, testing, materials, labor, and equipment conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Represent Mid-States professionally while working with customers, contractors, and vendors.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Texas Master Electrician license.
  • At least five years of industrial electrical experience.
  • Experience working in agricultural processing, grain handling, manufacturing, or another heavy-industrial environment.
  • Experience performing electrical work in hazardous or classified locations, including combustible-dust environments.
  • Previous experience providing supervision, technical direction, or on-the-job training to electrical personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout procedures, and industrial electrical safety requirements.
  • Experience with three-phase electrical systems, motors, motor-control centers, variable-frequency drives, control panels, instrumentation, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex industrial electrical systems safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, specifications, and technical manuals.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to safely work at heights using appropriate fall protection.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and heavier materials with assistance or mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to work onsite in hot, cold, dusty, noisy, and otherwise challenging industrial conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred

  • Experience with grain elevators, bulk-material-handling systems, or port facilities.
  • Experience with industrial automation, programmable logic controllers, and process-control systems.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Current NFPA 70E, arc-flash, CPR, and First Aid training.
  • Experience coordinating electrical inspections, permits, testing, and equipment commissioning.
