Job Description: 

Drive a truck or van, primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise or to deliver packages within a specified area. May load and unload truck.  Drive vehicle over established route or within an established territory and sell goods.  May also take orders and collect payment. 

Tasks: 

• Drive truck or other vehicle over established routes   
• Drive trucks in order to deliver items  
• Review lists of dealers, customers, or station drops and load trucks  
• Record sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery record  
• Listen to and reports service complaints  
• May set up merchandise and sales promotional displays  
• Places new stock on shelves, racks or bins  
• May perform other duties as assigned by management.   
• Drive vehicles with capacities under three tons in order to transport materials to and from specified destinations such as plants, residences and offices, or within industrial yards.  
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.  
• Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.   
• Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations.  
• Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.  
• Perform emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.  
• Read maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directions.  
• Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.  
• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.  
• Sell and keep records of sales for products from truck inventory.  
• Turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.   
• Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time. Ø All other duties as assigned by supervision
