What are the responsibilities and job description for the Small Engine Service Technician position at Mid State Equipment?
REQUIREMENTS: Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk and climb. Additionally, the incumbent will be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Applicant must have 5 to 10 years of small engine repair experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Continually develops skills in disassembly, assembly, and repair of components and equipment.
2. Performs basic testing on all machine systems.
3. Works toward improving diagnostic skills on all machine systems.
4. Performs all service tasks as assigned by service manager.
5. Reports to service manager any additional work required on machines to ensure proper operation and safety.
6. Participates in all service training required for the development of skills and knowledge. Utilizes training tapes and manuals provided.
7. Prepares all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments in a timely manner.
8. Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment and vehicles.
9. Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly manner.
10. Follows all safety rules and regulations, and uses safe practices in performing all work assignments.
11. Conducts self in the presence of customers and other employees in a manner benefiting the image of the dealership.
12. Performs all other duties as directed by the service manager.
Experience
Required- 5 year(s): Applicant must have 5 to 10 years of small engine repair experience.
