Mid-State Engineering and Testing, Inc. has a immediate career opportunity as a Construction Materials Technician in our Kearney and North Platte, NE locations.
Mid-State Engineering and Testing, Inc. is a full service geotechnical design and consulting firm with two complete construction materials laboratories and field CMT staff. Our current staff of 19 individuals between our Columbus, Norfolk, North Platte and Kearney, NE offices includes professional engineers, project engineers, certified engineering laboratory and field technicians, fully staffed drill crew and administrative staff. Our laboratory is nationally accredited through AMRL, CCRL, AASHTO and certified by NDOT and CORP of Engineers. Our technicians actively participate in ACI and NICET certification programs and are annually trained in the latest NDOT procedures. Our engineering personnel have over 50 years of combined geotechnical and construction experience throughout the Mid-West and strive to provide expert advice and service during both design and construction. Technician Responsibilities:
- Conduct Field and/or Laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel)
- Field observation of construction activities for numerous projects
- Provide completed observation and testing reports to the Project Manager daily.
This position includes:
- The use of a company truck for transportation to and from job sites.
- Applicable PPE (personal protective equipment) provided.
- Annual Mid-State Clothing allowance program.
- Company issued field mobile device for reporting.
- Receive fully paid training and hands-on experience by shadowing seasoned Mid-State professionals during training period.
- Daily travel, home each night.

- American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade 1, International Code Council (ICC) Nuclear Gauge, or applicable Department of Transportation/Road certifications preferred not required.
