Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structural steel frameworks and components for various construction projects.
- Ensure all structural designs comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and codes.
- Collaborate with architects and other engineers to develop innovative structural solutions.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate project requirements and conditions.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Review and approve shop drawings and specifications from fabricators.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and interns on best practices and engineering principles.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; additional certifications are a plus. Texas and Florida state current PE is a huge plus and you should be willing to acquire other state licenses.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the structural steel engineering field.
- Proficient in structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, RISA Connect, RAM connection and similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of structural design codes, standards, and specifications such as AISC, AWS, ASCE, ACI, IBC and NDS.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
