What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Jockey position at Mid South Produce Distributors, Inc?
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Yard Jockey to join our team. The Yard Jockey will be responsible for safely moving trailers to and from loading docks and designated yard locations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient warehouse and transportation operations by maintaining organized trailer flow and supporting dock operations.

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate yard truck to move trailers within the yard, between docks.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard trucks and trailers.
- Ensure trailers are properly secured and positioned at docks for loading and unloading.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer moves, placements, and yard inventory.
- Communicate with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and drivers to coordinate trailer movement.
- Follow all company policies, DOT regulations, and safety procedures.
- Inspect and report any equipment defects, damages, or safety hazards immediately.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Must have a valid REAL ID- Class A commercial driver's license.
- Experience operating a yard truck, tractor-trailer, or similar equipment.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of yard safety rules and DOT regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to climb in and out of trucks frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Schedule:
- Sunday- Thursday; 9A-5P
Pay Rate:
- $23.00/HR
