What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Worker -1st Shift position at Mid South Produce Distributors, Inc?
Our Sanitation Worker will complete the daily and master sanitation schedule for a warehouse environment. Fulfills the daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly sanitation schedule which includes:
- Maintaining the warehouse spaces in a clean and orderly condition.
- Cleaning and organizing bathrooms and break rooms.
- Mopping floors, cleaning sinks, washing walls, and windows.
- Removing trash and recycling from all areas daily including shredding.
- Communicating immediately to the department manager, department leader, or other managers of any situation that may impact employee and/or product safety.
- Performing inspections of pest control devices, logs, and notifying supervisor of any activity.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age and a High School diploma or GED required.
- At least (1) year of warehouse cleaning experience or similar role
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Must be able to lift moderate weight (up to 50lbs at times), ability to continuously stand and walk for up to 8 hours, ability to bend, stoop, and squat down.
- Ability to work in a cold environment with temperatures from 34 -55 degrees.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background and/or drug screening.
The starting salary for this position is $17.00 per hour plus an additional $5.09 per hour in cash fringe benefits for a maximum hourly rate of up to $22.09.
