The Role

As our Outdoor Sales Representative, you will be the face of our company at the customer’s home. You’ll meet with interested homeowners who have requested an outdoor lighting or audio consultation, design a customized solution on-site, work up a quote, and guide the customer toward a decision. This is a consultative sales role where your design sensibility, customer-service skills, and ability to close deals will shine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit homeowner leads at their property to assess the outdoor lighting and audio needs, taking into account architecture, landscaping, usage patterns, and aesthetic goals.
  • Listen attentively to what the customer wants — whether it's landscape accent lighting, pathway lighting, outdoor speakers for entertaining, holiday décor, or a full integrated system.
  • Develop and propose tailored solutions: choose fixture/speaker types, layout, integration options, lighting/audio zones, and financing if offered.
  • Prepare and present quotes clearly, professionally, and persuasively.
  • Follow up with customers after the visit to answer questions, handle objections, and help move toward signing the agreement.
  • Collaborate with the installation and design team to ensure hand-off is smooth and customer expectations are met.
  • Keep accurate records of lead status, quote status, and follow-up activity in our CRM or tracking system.
  • Represent the company professionally in the field: attire, communication, punctuality, and strong relationship building.

What We’re Looking For

  • A high-energy, self-motivated sales and design professional with a flair for visual/spatial thinking and outdoor design aesthetics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: comfortable meeting homeowners at their property, building rapport quickly, asking great questions, listening and responding with insight.
  • Ability to interpret a space (house exterior, landscape, patios) and envision lighting/audio solutions that enhance both functionality and ambience.
  • Comfortable working independently in the field.
  • Proven track record of closing sales (preferred). Experience in home-improvement, outdoor living, lighting/audio, or landscaping is a plus.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, including the ability to walk a homeowner through technical options in a simple, clear way.
  • Organized, timely follow-up habits, and a commitment to exceptional customer experience.
  • Comfortable working variable hours depending on customer availability.
