Chemical Technician - I

Overview:
We are seeking a Chemical Technician that is excited to learn to join our team. As a technician, you will play a crucial role in the development, improvement, and testing of products. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and innovation in our industry.

Part-time: ~16.5 hours per week. Paid Lunches

Schedule: Mon - Wed. 9 am - 2:30 pm. No overtime available

Duties:

- Preparing, mixing, bottling, labeling, and testing of chemical formulas and completion of other projects as specified by Laboratory Manager

· Equipment cleaning, calibration, and maintenance.

· Creating written reports

· Communicating orally and through written means (emails, answering phone calls, project tracking software, etc.)

· Technical and methodological research when necessary

· Completing technical training when prescribed by Laboratory Manager

· Categorizing and conglomerating chemical waste

· Maintaining chemical intake shelves and inventory

· Creating shipments and maintaining shipping log

· Equipment maintenance such as cleaning, calibration, etc.

· Laboratory environment maintenance such as cleaning (including but not limited to dishes, sweeping, mopping, bench tops, fume hoods, emptying dehumidifiers), compost/recycling/trash upkeep (such as taking out compost/recycling/trash, adding the weight to zero waste tracker, putting bags in trash cans, etc.)

· Occasionally attending conferences and participating in on site client visits

Qualifications:

- Experience in lab safety, 1 year
- Obtained or pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related scientific field
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.5 per week
