Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, commissioning, and servicing of commercial boilers, pumps, and associated equipment and controls.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on boilers and related systems.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions with controls, pumps, valves, gauges, burners, and other components of boilers and steam generators.
- Follow strict safety protocols when inspecting and cleaning boilers to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Perform start-up of new boilers and tune burners for optimum combustion efficiency.
- Repair boilers, pumps, and associated equipment.
- Monitor boilers, chillers, wells, cooling towers, and compressed air systems to ensure proper operation.
- Maintain logs of readings, inspections, and maintenance activities, reporting variations to management.
- Conduct preventive maintenance in accordance with schedules and manufacturer recommendations.
- Dismantle, inspect, repair, or replace defective parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Adjust functional parts of devices, install new components, and perform alignment checks (including laser alignment).
- Lubricate and clean parts, and operate equipment such as drill presses, grinders, and mills to make and repair parts.
- Perform basic electrical and instrumentation work as required.
- Communicate effectively with other technicians, engineers, managers, and clients.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years related boiler maintenance experience in industrial or commercial settings. Food processing experience preferred.
- Licensing: First Class Steam license required.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of boiler systems, pumps, and associated controls.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to recognize and resolve problems with industrial machinery, pneumatics, robotics, and automation equipment.
- Knowledge of combustion tuning, alignment methods (including laser alignment), and instrumentation.
- Light welding experience a plus.
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.

- Pay: $30.00 – $48.00 per hour
- Schedule: Full-time, 12-hour shifts (36–48 hours per week)
