The Director leads with the following three goals in mind:
- Supporting the mission of Deeper Learning every day in every classroom by working with teachers to develop and apply the Deeper Learning Rubric.
- Placing intellectual curiosity and deeper learning core competencies at the center of teaching and learning at Mid-Pacific and beyond.
- Advancing the professional learning for educators at the request and direction of school leadership.
In close partnership with the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Divisional Principals, Assistant Principals, and faculty facilitators, the Director of KHA plays a dual leadership role by:
- Leading high-quality internal professional learning at the direction of school leadership, including planning, managing, and implementing instructional coaching for both new and veteran faculty (70%)
- Managing and delivering (as time and resources allow) external professional learning experiences as possible (including custom and standard workshops with external institutions such as DOE, charter schools, and other educational partners) (up to 30%)

Active Work
- Share the Deeper Learning Framework to support the integration of the Deeper Learning Institute work into on campus learning and practice.
- Work with faculty facilitators to create a Deeper Learning circle discussion model for ongoing instructional coaching for faculty who need targeted support with Deeper Learning implementation.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Principals, Assistant Principals, and Division Leads/faculty facilitators to implement the Deeper Learning (DL) framework and to ensure consistency and coherence across divisions, grade levels, and learning environments.
- Partner with the Mid-Pacific Academic Team to establish and reinforce a core set of shared instructional practices and teaching strategies.
- Support new faculty in understanding and implementing Deeper Learning through structured onboarding and monthly meetings during their first year.
- Support the planning and facilitation of Professional Learning (PL) throughout the year, leading sessions as directed by school leadership.
- In partnership with the academic team, set clear learning goals and curate external learning opportunities that strengthen and advance deeper learning practices on campus.
- Evaluate which external partnerships align with KHA’s mission, capacity, and instructional quality standards; establish readiness expectations and guardrails for partnerships.
- Maintain engagement in field-facing deeper learning communities and networks as feasible and appropriate.
- Gather, analyze, and apply feedback from participants and instructors to inform continuous improvement and future program development.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate
- Excellent attention to detail, adaptability, strong written communication skills, and a deep commitment to meeting the learning needs of Mid-Pacific students, faculty, and partner participants.
- The ability to ensure high-quality coaching delivery through effective program planning, coordination, and evidence of continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in program coordination and/or project management experience, ideally in a Preschool–12 (PS–12) educational environment.
- The ability to manage multiple program schedules, priorities, and logistical needs simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data systems, people management practices, and tools such as Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.) and digital communication platforms.
- Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
- Knowledge of current trends in education, arts, technology, and the Hawai?i PS–12 school landscape.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across departments, including Academic Affairs, Business Office, Human Resources, and Communications.
- Regular and predictable attendance at work.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university or college.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in program coordination, project management, educational program management, or related work (preferably in PS–12 or enrichment settings).
- Demonstrated strategic thinking skills and the ability to align program goals, stakeholders, and outcomes while managing effective implementation logistics.
- Strong experience working cross-functionally across multiple disciplines and departments.
